Rani Therapeutics Reports Q2 Update; RT-114 Expansion Data Expected By Year-End

(RTTNews) - Rani Therapeutics Holdings, Inc. (RANI) recently reported its second-quarter 2026 financial results, reflecting a narrower net loss, new contract revenue and continued progress across its oral biologics pipeline.

Rani Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biotherapeutics company focused on developing orally administered biologics using its proprietary RaniPill delivery platform.

For the second quarter, net loss narrowed to $8.4 million from $11.2 million in the prior-year period.

Contract revenue totaled $1.7 million, compared with no contract revenue a year earlier, primarily driven by the company's collaboration and license agreement with Chugai.

Research and development expenses declined to $5.0 million from $5.5 million in the prior-year period.

General and administrative expenses increased to $5.5 million from $5.0 million.

As of June 30, 2026, cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities totaled $53.4 million.

The company expects its cash resources to fund operations at least through 2027.

Pipeline And Corporate Update

Rani continued advancing RT-114, an orally administered RaniPill Capsule delivering PG-102, a GLP-1/GLP-2 dual agonist, which is currently being evaluated in an ongoing Phase 1a clinical trial.

Positive initial data showed oral bioavailability of more than 150% relative to matched subcutaneous dosing, with plans to advance the program into a Phase 1b repeat-dose study in patients with obesity.

The company has begun dosing participants in the Phase 1a expansion cohort, with additional data expected by the end of 2026.

Rani plans to initiate a Phase 1b repeat-dose study in patients with obesity by the end of 2026, with data anticipated in 2027.

Rani also expanded its obesity pipeline through a new research and development collaboration with PegBio to explore oral delivery of multiple obesity and metabolic disease candidates using the RaniPill platform.

During the quarter, the company completed a $20 million registered direct offering, further strengthening its financial position.

RANI has traded between $0.44 and $3.87 over the last year.

The stock closed Wednesday's trade at $0.84, down 5.57%.

In the pre-market trading, the stock is up 0.44% at $0.85.
