In early trading on Wednesday, shares of Applied Materials, topped the list of the day's best performing components of the Nasdaq 100 index, trading up 8.5%. Year to date, Applied Materials, registers a 139.8% gain.
And the worst performing Nasdaq 100 component thus far on the day is Adobe, trading down 3.0%. Adobe is lower by about 42.6% looking at the year to date performance.
Two other components making moves today are Old Dominion Freight Line, trading down 2.9%, and Lam Research, trading up 6.9% on the day.
