Modular Medical's Pivot Insulin Patch Pump Gets FDA Clearance For Software Enhancements

(RTTNews) - Modular Medical, Inc. (MODD), a commercial-stage medical device company focused on insulin delivery technology, on Thursday announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) cleared software enhancements to its Pivot tubeless insulin patch pump.

Pivot is a wearable, tubeless insulin delivery system designed to provide continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion with both basal and bolus insulin delivery over a three-day wear period. The system is intended for adults with diabetes and is designed as a simpler alternative to traditional insulin pump systems.

The clearance covers upgrades that expand bolus dosing flexibility and customization, including the ability to adjust the amount of insulin delivered with each button press. The enhancements also include an updated user interface and other software upgrades.

Modular plans to begin the first phase of Pivot's commercial rollout in October 2026 across Atlanta, Cincinnati/Lexington, Dallas, Houston and Philadelphia. The company has partnered with Inizio to support commercialization, provider engagement and launch activities.

Modular shares have traded between $1.72 and $30 over the last year.

On Thursday, MODD closed at $3.42, down 1.16%. In the premarket trading, the stock is trading up 9.65% at $3.75.
