Milestone:My milestone is to get our technology product into play and hopefully get to a stage where we would be able to hire our employees full-time.
Tell us your name and about your company?
My name is Matt Lock and my company, Raddish, makes it easy for people to find vegetarian and vegan foods in their neighborhood, cooked by people who love cooking vegetarian and vegan meals.
What is your milestone?
My milestone is to get our technology product into play and hopefully get to a stage where we would be able to hire our employees full-time. I think it would be a great win if we could be doing Raddish full-time in 2017.
What milestone do you dream about reaching in your lifetime as an entrepreneur?
My lifetime milestone would be to create a seamless way for people to travel and connect with communities, while also being able to embrace culture around the world.
What keeps you going on those tough days?
One thing is that in 8th grade I was homeless for the year. It was a very interesting time, but a lot of people don’t actually know that story. So just knowing that there is light at the end of the tunnel, keeps me going. It’s knowing that I have made it this far and I figure that there is still a lot of work ahead and it’s just temporary pain. I am not dead, so that is how I keep pushing through.
What was an early milestone as an entrepreneur that built your sense of pride?
An early milestone was when we first launched our alpha; we were able to book 50 orders within our first month. So that was a huge milestone, but it also made us realize that we couldn’t sustain without real technology in place, especially with the employee base that we had.
How have you celebrated those big milestones?
We have celebrated with dinner parties. I also am a practicing DJ and host these fun events called New Sound Sunday’s, where I invite some friends over and cook international cuisine and everyone has to bring 10 new songs. It’s been a great way of building a community. So that is actually how I have celebrated on hitting our milestones. I think that it’s like every time that we have done something good as a company the best way to celebrate is with friends.
