Hogs Rallying Back on Tuesday

Lean hog futures are higher on Tuesday, with contracts 80 cents to $1.10 higher. USDA’s national base hog price was tallied at $78.01 in the Tuesday AM report at $78.01. The CME Lean Hog Index was down another 55 cents on September 24 at $81.21. 

USDA’s pork carcass cutout value was back up $2.79 in the Tuesday morning report, at $90.59. The picnic primal was the only reported lower. Federally inspected hog slaughter for Monday was estimated at 491,000 head. That was 26,000 head above last Monday and 2,791 head larger than the same Monday last year.

Oct 26 Hogs  are at $79.050, up $0.800,

Dec 26 Hogs  are at $69.500, up $1.100

Feb 27 Hogs are at $70.300, up $0.925,
