Hogs Posting Tuesday Gains

Lean hog futures are trading with contracts $1.15 to $1.30 higher at midday. USDA’s national base hog price was $79.92 in the Tuesday morning PM report, down 55 cents from the day prior. The CME Lean Hog Index was down another 60 cents on September 18 at $83.42. 

USDA’s pork carcass cutout value was back down 60 cents in the Tuesday morning report, at $88.31. The loin, belly, and rib were the only primals reported lower. Federally inspected hog slaughter for Monday was estimated at 493,000 head. That was 11,000 head above last week and 8,310 head above the same Monday last year.

Oct 26 Hogs  are at $79.300, up $1.150,

Dec 26 Hogs  are at $71.075, up $1.275

Feb 27 Hogs are at $72.600, up $1.250,
