Ginkgo Datapoints Partners With Lilly TuneLab To Link AI Models And Lab Data

(RTTNews) - Ginkgo Bioworks (DNA) announced that its Ginkgo Datapoints offering has entered into a new agreement with Lilly TuneLab, an AI/ML drug discovery platform created by Eli Lilly and Company.

Under the agreement, Ginkgo Datapoints will provide discovery data generation services, including small molecule developability testing and antibody developability testing, to biotech companies participating in TuneLab.

The collaboration is designed to connect AI-generated drug discovery hypotheses with experimental laboratory data, allowing TuneLab participants to generate standardized, machine-learning-ready datasets for use with predictive models.

Ginkgo's automated laboratories are expected to enable TuneLab companies to conduct experiments without manual laboratory bottlenecks, with results generated in formats that can be integrated directly into TuneLab's predictive models.

The small molecule and antibody developability services are designed to provide experimental results in days rather than months, helping biotech companies evaluate AI-generated candidates through laboratory testing.

Ginkgo will also provide standardized assay protocols across the TuneLab ecosystem, which the companies expect will help AI/ML models learn more efficiently through additional experimental data.

New TuneLab members will be able to submit data generated through Ginkgo Datapoints to access additional platform model benefits.

The agreement expands Ginkgo Datapoints' work in providing biological data generation services for AI/ML-driven drug discovery and connects predictive models with real-world experimental data at scale.

Lilly TuneLab is part of Lilly Catalyze360, which also includes Lilly Ventures, Lilly Gateway Labs and Lilly ExploR&D.

The initiative supports biotech innovation through access to capital, laboratory space, technology and research and development capabilities.

Ginkgo Bioworks develops tools and autonomous laboratory systems designed to automate biological research and improve laboratory productivity.

Its Datapoints and Solutions businesses provide contract research and biological data generation services through its autonomous laboratory infrastructure.

Ginkgo Bioworks' shares are currently trading at $7.18, up 2.86%.
