(RTTNews) - On Tuesday, Firy Inc. (FIRY), the global holding company built to fuel business potential and formerly known as Skillz Inc. announced the appointment of Marc Lasry to its Board of Directors as an independent director, effective Oct. 1, 2026.

Lasry is the Co-Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Avenue Capital Group, a global investment firm with about $9.2 billion in assets under management. The firm focuses on specialty lending, credit, and other investment opportunities. He co-founded Avenue in 1995 and has more than 30 years of experience investing in public and private debt across various industries.

From 2014 to 2023, Lasry was a co-owner of the NBA's Milwaukee Bucks. In 2023, he launched the Avenue Sports Fund. He holds a bachelor's degree in history from Clark University and a law degree from New York Law School.

On the NYSE, the shares were trading 0.10 percent up at $10.29.
