Fervo Energy Q2 Loss Widens

(RTTNews) - Fervo Energy Company (FRVO), a geothermal energy company that debuted on the Nasdaq on May 13, on Wednesday reported a significantly wider net loss for the second quarter of 2026, as higher operating and non-operating expenses more than offset increased interest income.

Net loss attributable to common stock was $59.53 million, compared with $11.63 million in the year-ago period. Loss per share narrowed to $0.38 from $1.31, reflecting a substantial increase in weighted average shares outstanding.

Operating loss widened to $28.74 million from $10.30 million last year.

Interest income jumped to $10.52 million from $601,000, while interest expense increased to $2.215 million from $1.739 million.

Other non-operating expense, net, was $35.48 million in the quarter compared with nil last year.

Revenue was $113,000 compared with nil in the prior-year quarter.

Looking ahead, the company expects total capital expenditures of about $850 million to $900 million in the second half of 2026, unchanged from its previously disclosed expectations.

Fervo shares were up nearly 3% in pre-market trading after closing at $24.17 on Tuesday.
