Cotton Posting Midday Gains on Monday

Cotton futures are trading with contracts 20 to 33 points higher on the Monday session. Crude oil is down $2.03 with the US dollar index $0.176 higher.

Commitment of Traders data showed managed money adding another 5,798 contracts to their net long in cotton futures and options during the week ending on August 18. That net long stood at 78,668 contracts on Tuesday.

The Cotlook A Index was back down 70 points on Friday at 98.20 cents. ICE certified cotton stocks were down 1,749 bales on August 21, with the certified stocks level at 68,894 bales. The Adjusted World Price was raised by 143 points last week to 69.62 cents/lb. 

Oct 26 Cotton  is at 87.27, up 20 points,

Dec 26 Cotton  is at 88.67, up 32 points,

Mar 27 Cotton  is at 90.48, up 33 points
