Cotton Back to Rallying Early on Friday

Cotton price action is up 40 to 65 points so far on Friday. Futures posted marginally mixed trade on Thursday, with contracts down 10 points to 44 points higher. Crude oil was up $2.32 with the US dollar index $0.054 higher.

Export Sales showed a total of 209,360 RB in 2026/27 sales in the week of 8/13. Vietnam was the top buyer of 55,400 RB, with 51,900 RB sold to Pakistan.  New crop sales were tallied at 64,856 RB. Much of that was to El Salvador at 35,100 RB. Shipments totaled 222,046 RB in that week.  The top destination was Vietnam at 66,800 RB, with 30,200 RB to Pakistan.

The Cotlook A Index was back down 10 points on Wednesday at 95.90 cents. ICE certified cotton stocks were steady on August 19, with the certified stocks level at 70,643 bales. The Adjusted World Price was raised by 143 points on Thursday to 69.62 cents/lb. 

Oct 26 Cotton  closed at 87.02, up 2 points, currently up 42 points 

Dec 26 Cotton  closed at 88.34, down 1 point, currently up 61 points

Mar 27 Cotton  closed at 90.08, down 6 points, currently up 63 points
