CDT Highlights Sarborg's Quantum Computing IP For Drug Discovery

(RTTNews) - Tuesday, CDT Equity (CDT) said Sarborg Limited has filed new intellectual property applying quantum sampling to disease biology and drug discovery.

Sarborg's approach uses quantum computing to analyze networks of biological regulators that control disease genes, with the aim of identifying potential drug targets that may be difficult to detect using conventional methods.

The model was applied across 150 disease networks, including Crohn's disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and psoriasis, identifying combinatorially regulated genes enriched for cell-surface receptors and ion channels with human genetic support for disease.

In COPD, the identified genes showed approximately eightfold alignment with established drug targets, including CHRM3, the target of tiotropium.

Sarborg said its quantum-enhanced sampler reproduced results with complete agreement in a simulation against an exact ground truth and is designed to run on existing classical infrastructure while being ready for quantum hardware.

CDT holds 1,290 Sarborg shares, representing 22.7% of the company's issued share capital. Sarborg is also in discussions with a leading global quantum computing company regarding a potential partnership to implement the models on quantum hardware.

CDT has traded between $0.068 and $1,778.00 over the past year. Currently, the stock is trading at $1.79, down 5.26%.
