Cartesian Reports Positive Phase 2 Retreatment Data For Descartes-08

(RTTNews) - Cartesian Therapeutics (RNAC) reported additional Phase 2 retreatment data for investigational Descartes-08 in generalized myasthenia gravis (MG), showing sustained improvements in disease symptoms 12 months after retreatment.

Generalized myasthenia gravis is a chronic autoimmune neuromuscular disorder that causes muscle weakness and fatigue.

Descartes-08 is an investigational autologous CAR-T therapy targeting B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA), being developed for MG and myositis.

The Phase 2 case series evaluated five patients who experienced recurrence of symptoms at least 12 months after their initial Descartes-08 treatment and subsequently received six once-weekly retreatment infusions.

The median interval between completion of the initial treatment and the first retreatment infusion was 16.6 months.

At 12 months after retreatment, the mean Myasthenia Gravis Activities of Daily Living (MG-ADL) score decreased by 6.6 points, while the mean Myasthenia Gravis Composite (MGC) score decreased by 15 points.

All five patients experienced clinically meaningful reductions in MGC and MG-ADL scores, with four patients maintaining a clinically meaningful MG-ADL reduction at Month 12.

Cartesian said retreatment was generally well tolerated, with no new safety signals reported. No serious adverse events, cytokine release syndrome, immune effector cell-associated neurotoxicity syndrome, cytopenias or hypogammaglobulinemia were observed.

The company expects to report topline Phase 3 AURORA study results in the first quarter of 2027 and plans to submit a Biologics License Application for Descartes-08 in mid-2027.

RNAC has traded between $5.60 and $11.00 over the past year. The stock closed Monday's trading at $7.21, down 2.70%.
