Candel Reports 24.5-Month Survival In Phase 2a NSCLC Study

(RTTNews) - Candel Therapeutics (CADL) reported final Phase 2a results showing a median overall survival of 24.5 months with aglatimagene besadenovec plus valacyclovir in patients with advanced NSCLC who had an inadequate response to immune checkpoint inhibitors.

Aglatimagene is an investigational multimodal immunotherapy designed to stimulate an immune response against injected tumors and distant metastases.

The Phase 2a trial included 46 evaluable patients. Among 41 patients with progressive disease on ICI therapy, median overall survival was 21.5 months, while patients with non-squamous disease had a median overall survival of 25.4 months.

Treatment was generally well tolerated, with no dose-limiting toxicities or unexpected safety signals. Candel is advancing aglatimagene into the Phase 3 AURORA trial, which is evaluating the therapy in metastatic non-squamous NSCLC.

Currently, CADL is trading at $10.36, down 0.77%.
