Boston Scientific Addresses Cybersecurity Disruption; Stock Down

(RTTNews) - Boston Scientific Corporation (BSX) disclosed that it identified a cybersecurity incident on August 25, 2026, affecting certain information technology systems and causing a temporary global disruption to operations.

According to the company's Form 8-K filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission dated August 26, 2026, the event led to network outages and limited access to several business applications, including those used to process and ship customer orders.

Upon detection, Boston Scientific activated its incident response protocols, engaged third-party cybersecurity experts, and began a detailed investigation to assess and contain the threat.

The company emphasized that it is working diligently to restore affected functions, though the timeline for full restoration remains uncertain.

The medical device maker said it does not expect the event to have a material impact on the company.

BSX has traded between $42.20 and $109.50 over the past year. The stock is currently trading at $47.81, down 4.13%.
