Arcturus Q2 Loss Widens; ARCT-032 Phase 3 Decision Expected In Q4 2026

(RTTNews) - Arcturus Therapeutics Holdings Inc. (ARCT), a messenger RNA medicines company focused on liver and respiratory rare diseases, recently reported second-quarter 2026 financial results and provided pipeline updates.

The company highlighted continued progress in its rare disease programs and the return of global rights to KOSTAIVE and its broader infectious disease vaccine portfolio.

Q2 Financial Results:

The company's net loss increased to $23.8 million, or $0.84 per share, in the second quarter of 2026, compared with a net loss of $9.2 million, or $0.34 per share, in the prior-year quarter.

Revenue from strategic alliances and collaborations declined to $3.0 million from $28.3 million, primarily due to lower revenue recognized under the CSL Seqirus collaboration.

R&D expenses fell to $17.5 million from $29.6 million.

G&A expenses increased to $11.0 million from $10.3 million.

Cash and cash equivalents totaled $191.5 million as of June 30, 2026.

The company expects its cash runway to extend through year-end 2028.

Pipeline Progress:

ARCT-032, an inhaled mRNA therapeutic candidate for cystic fibrosis, continues to advance in a Phase 2 study, with enrollment progressing across the U.S., Israel and Turkey.

The company expects to make a decision on advancing ARCT-032 into Phase 3 in Q4 2026.

Under its collaboration with Thermo Fisher Scientific, Thermo Fisher will provide Phase 3 manufacturing and clinical research services if the program advances.

ARCT-810, an mRNA therapeutic candidate for OTC deficiency, has completed Phase 2 enrollment and dosing.

Arcturus expects to communicate the study data and regulatory plan in Q3 2026.

KOSTAIVE Rights Regained:

Arcturus and CSL Seqirus terminated their sa-mRNA collaboration, allowing Arcturus to regain global rights to KOSTAIVE and its broader infectious disease vaccine portfolio, including influenza, RSV and EBV programs.

Under the settlement, CSL Seqirus will make a one-time $12 million cash payment to Arcturus, while the company will also be released from approximately $16 million in R&D-related liabilities and credits.

Arcturus plans to evaluate development, commercialization and partnering opportunities for KOSTAIVE and its broader infectious disease vaccine portfolio.
