3 Gabelli Mutual Funds to Consider for Your Portfolio

Gabelli is a global investment firm that manages a variety of mutual funds across several investment categories, including equity, fixed income and convertible securities. Its product range includes open-end and closed-end funds as well as separately managed accounts.

Gabelli uses a private market value (PMV) with a catalyst in its stock picking. It invests in companies that have been chosen through fundamental, bottom-up research to achieve the intrinsic worth of the undervalued investment.

Gabelli’s equity research platform consists of over 30 sector-focused equity analysts that follow over 2,000 companies worldwide. Its research supports portfolio managers across the firm's investment strategies. These research capabilities and its valuation-focused approach make Gabelli’s funds worth considering for investment.

We have picked three Gabelli mutual funds — Gabelli Global Financial Services GFSIX, Gabelli International Growth GIGRX and Gabelli International Small Cap GABOX — which investors should buy now for the long term. These funds have a Zacks Mutual Fund Rank #2 (Buy), positive three-year and five-year annualized returns, minimum initial investments within $5000 and expense ratios considerably lower than the category average. So, these funds have provided a comparatively stronger performance and carry a lower fee.

Gabelli Global Financial Services fund invests most of its assets in companies operating in the financial services sector, with exposure to both stocks and debt securities.

Ian Lapey has been the lead manager of GFSIX since Oct. 1, 2018. Most of the fund’s holdings were in companies, such as TrustCo Bank Corp NY (4%), Capital One Financial Corp (4%) and First Citizens BancShares, Inc. (4%) as of March 31, 2026.

GFSIX’s 3-year and 5-year annualized returns are 28.1% and 18.7%, respectively. Its net expense ratio is 1%. GFSIX has a Zacks Mutual Fund Rank #1.

Gabelli International Growth fund invests its assets in equity securities of foreign issuers located in at least three countries outside the United States that the adviser believes are likely to see rapid growth in revenues and earnings and have potential for above-average capital appreciation.

GIGRX’s 3-year and 5-year annualized returns are 6.8% and 2.1%, respectively. Its net expense ratio is 0.84%. GIGRX has a Zacks Mutual Fund Rank #1.
