Nasdaq Chief Executive 2000 – 2003
Hardwick ‘Wick’ Simmons retired as the Chairman and CEO of The Nasdaq Stock Market, Inc. in May of 2003. Prior to Nasdaq, he served as President and CEO of Prudential Securities Inc., a major investment management and securities brokerage firm.
Simmons is a former chairman of the Securities Industry Association, a former director of the Chicago Board Options Exchange, a former lead director of Raymond James Financial and a former president of the New York Bond Club. He is currently a director of Lionsgate Entertainment Corp., president of Stonetex Oil Corp., and a trustee of Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. He is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Business School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve from 1960 until 1966.
