Alex Kogan
Senior Vice President, Global Head of Corporate & Commercial Law
Alex Kogan serves as Senior Vice President, Global Head of Corporate & Commercial Law at Nasdaq. In his role, Alex is Nasdaq’s chief corporate counsel and the chief counsel for the company’s Capital Access Platforms Division. He leads the Global Corporate & Commercial Law Group, Nasdaq’s full-service international law practice advising the company on corporate, regulatory, M&A, commercial, IP, and employment matters.
Alex joined Nasdaq in 2003 and has held numerous roles within Nasdaq’s Legal, Risk, and Regulatory team over the past 20 years. He has led Nasdaq’s legal M&A and corporate law teams, served as the head of the Philadelphia Exchange (PHLX) legal team following Nasdaq’s acquisition of PHLX, and as the head lawyer for Nasdaq’s index business.
Prior to joining Nasdaq, Alex served as General Counsel of UUNET Asia-Pacific and as a Deputy General Counsel of UUNET, which was then the world’s largest provider of wholesale Internet connectivity. Immediately prior to his in-house positions, Alex practiced antitrust law with Akin Gump in Washington, DC. Alex began his career as a Trial Attorney in the Honors Program at the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice.
He holds a J.D. from Yale Law School and a B.A. from New York University.
