Arc of Entrepreneurship highlights the diverse stories of entrepreneurs — spotlighting their similarities, differences, and exploring common themes that connect their journeys.
When you picture an entrepreneur,
what do you see?
This should be a difficult question to answer, as there is no one-size-fits-all description.
Entrepreneurs come from all walks of life, from all types of backgrounds — each with distinct ambitions, objectives and definitions of success, as well as unique challenges and circumstances. Some strive to build companies with the goal of going public; some hope to create companies that they can pass down for generations to come. Some aspire to impact communities around the globe, while others choose to devote their time and resources to their local neighborhoods.

The community of entrepreneurs is a vibrant one. It takes a village... these last few years have really taught us what that village needs to look like to make sure that we’re not leaving anyone behind in the process.”

The Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center helps entrepreneurs write their own stories by providing them with expert resources and mentorship programs to help foster and deepen connections, spark innovation and empower their companies to flourish. Nicola Corzine, executive director of the Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center, says, “Being able to find support, acceptance, availability and insights from those who are on the same journey as us, the same arc as us, is so important.”
And with Nasdaq’s unique vantage point at the intersection of technology and the capital markets and its purpose to champion economic progress for all, its partnership with the Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center creates impact for entrepreneurs at all stages of their journey.
“The strength of Nasdaq’s brand and its convening power, combined with the Entrepreneurial Center’s advocacy and policy expertise, takes us to a place where together we can make a concrete impact in effecting change and driving action,” says Jailan Griffiths, president of the Nasdaq Foundation and Global Head of Purpose.
Both organizations are committed to equipping underrepresented communities with the financial knowledge they need for a prosperous future, and both recognize that they are stronger together.
It is in that spirit that we launch Arc of Entrepreneurship, which celebrates and shines a spotlight on eight entrepreneurs by highlighting their unique perspectives and journeys and looking at the common themes that connect them all.
Each episode will pair an early-stage startup entrepreneur with the founder of a Nasdaq-listed company to interview one another on what it means to be an entrepreneur.
“If we can connect startup entrepreneurs with others who have been there before and help them see around those corners that feel so very, very difficult for them to navigate in the moment — then hopefully we’re doing our part to really make them sustainable as founders,” Corzine says.
