Company Description (as filed with the SEC)

We are a publicly traded Delaware master limited partnership. Our common units trade on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) under the symbol TCP. We were formed by TransCanada Corporation and its subsidiaries (TransCanada) in 1998 to acquire, own and participate in the management of energy infrastructure businesses in North America. Our pipeline systems transport natural gas in the U.S. We are managed by our General Partner, which is an indirect, wholly-owned subsidiary of TransCanada. At December 31, 2017, subsidiaries of TransCanada own approximately 24.2 percent of our common units, 100 percent of our Class B units, 100 percent of our incentive distribution rights (IDRs) and an effective two percent general partner interest in us. See Part II, Item 5. "Market for Registrant's Common Equity, Related Stockholder Matters and Issuer Purchases of Equity Securities" for more information regarding TransCanada's ownership in us.  ...
