All dollar amounts discussed in this section are in millions of U.S. dollars, except for per unit amounts, and unless otherwise indicated. Our business originated as part of the operations of our former parent company, CNX, formerly known as CONSOL Energy Inc., which was an integrated energy company operating two primary divisions - a Pennsylvania mining division and an oil and natural gas exploration and production division. CNX and its predecessors had been mining coal, primarily in the Appalachian Basin, since 1864. CNX entered the natural gas business in the 1980s and since that time continued to expand its oil and natural gas exploration and production operations as well as continuing to operate its coal mining assets. On November 28, 2017, CNX split into two, independently traded public companies, a natural gas company, now known as CNX Resources Corporation, and CONSOL Energy Inc.  ... More ...
