Company Description (as filed with the SEC)

AK Steel Holding Corporation ("AK Holding") was formed under the laws of Delaware in 1993. Through its wholly owned subsidiary, AK Steel Corporation ("AK Steel"), it is a leading producer of flat-rolled carbon, stainless and electrical steel products, primarily for the automotive, infrastructure and manufacturing, and distributors and converters markets. Other subsidiaries also provide customer solutions with carbon and stainless steel tubing products, advanced-engineered solutions, tool design and build, hot- and cold-stamped steel components, and complex assemblies. AK Steel is the successor to Armco Inc. and has built upon Armco's rich history of creating leading-edge steel innovations since its formation in 1899.
