ABOUT THIS EVENT
Major League Soccer visited the Nasdaq MarketSite in Times Square to kick off its landmark 25th Season.
The League’s 25th Season Celebration will feature unique experiences, marquee events, robust content, innovative programming, and the special 25th Season commemorative design integrated throughout MLS and partner initiatives. The season will celebrate the League’s past, while expanding on the foundation it has built over an extensive period of explosive growth. In addition, MLS will welcome new clubs in Inter Miami CF and Nashville SC for the 2020 season.
In honor of the occasion, MLS’ President and Deputy Commissioner Mark Abbott rang the Opening Bell. The architect of the League’s business plan, he has been instrumental in many of the League’s accomplishments since he became the organization’s first employee in 1993. For nearly two decades, during which the League saw transformational growth, Abbott was primarily focused on the business, legal and financial side of MLS. In his expanded role as president and deputy commissioner, he now leads and manages all areas of League operations and competition, including product strategy, player relations, strategic planning and communications.
