XLF, EMFM: Big ETF Outflows

Looking at units outstanding versus one week prior within the universe of ETFs covered at ETF Channel, the biggest outflow was seen in the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLF ), where 12,500,000 units were destroyed, or a 1.7% decrease week over week. Among the largest underlying components of XLF, in morning trading today Berkshire Hathaway Class B ( BRK.B ) is trading flat, and Wells Fargo & Company ( WFC ) is up by about 0.6%.

And on a percentage change basis, the ETF with the biggest outflow was the Next Emerging & Frontier ETF ( EMFM ), which lost 1,850,000 of its units, representing a 35.9% decline in outstanding units compared to the week prior. Among the largest underlying components of EMFM, in morning trading today First Quantum Minerals (FM.CA) is up about 11.8%, and Gold Fields ( GFI ) is higher by about 0.9%.
