Asian markets were mixed Wednesday as Japanese stocks rose for the eighth straight day. The Shanghai Composite was down 0.23% and the Nikkei rose 0.03%. European stocks are mostly down today after a two-day rally. The FTSE is down 0.37%, and the DAX is down 0.29%.
Energy futures are mixed this morning. The West Texas Intermediate crude oil price per barrel is $93.22, up $0.36 and natural gas is down $0.04. Metals prices are down. Gold is down $1.00 and platinum is down $6.60. The Dollar is up versus the Euro and the Yen.
American Eagle Outfitters, Inc. ( AEO ), Fairchild Semiconductor International Inc.( FCS ), and PetSmart, Inc.( PETM ), are up today. Hertz Global Holdings, Inc. ( HTZ ), Halcon Resources Corp. ( BBL ) and La-Z-Boy Incorporated ( LZB ) are down.
