Wednesday's ETF with Unusual Volume: FXU

The First Trust Utilities AlphaDEX Fund ETF is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Wednesday, with over 200,000 shares traded versus three month average volume of about 28,000. Shares of FXU were off about 1.2% on the day.

Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Wednesday were Pacific Gas & Electric, trading up about 2.1% with over 12.1 million shares changing hands so far this session, and Vistra, down about 0.4% on volume of over 3.0 million shares. Proshares Ultra Semiconductors is the component faring the best Wednesday, higher by about 3.3% on the day, while Wec Energy Group is lagging other components of the First Trust Utilities AlphaDEX Fund ETF, trading lower by about 2.6%.
