The SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF ( XSD ) is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Wednesday, with over 632,000 shares traded versus three month average volume of about 57,000. Shares of XSD were off about 0.9% on the day.
Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Wednesday were Micron Technology ( MU ), trading down about 1.1% with over 15.5 million shares changing hands so far this session, and Intel ( INTC ), up about 0.1% on volume of over 8.0 million shares. Cypress Semiconductor ( CY ) is the component faring the best Wednesday, higher by about 1.8% on the day, while Microsemi ( MSCC ) is lagging other components of the SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF, trading lower by about 3.4%.
