Wednesday Sector Laggards: Services, Consumer Products

In afternoon trading on Wednesday, Services stocks are the worst performing sector, showing a 0.4% loss. Within the sector, Dollar Tree, Inc. (Symbol: DLTR) and AutoNation, Inc. (Symbol: AN) are two large stocks that are lagging, showing a loss of 3.5% and 2.6%, respectively. Among the largest ETFs , one ETF closely following services stocks is the iShares U.S. Consumer Services ETF (Symbol: IYC), which is down 0.6% on the day, and down 3.08% year-to-date. Dollar Tree, Inc., meanwhile, is up 2.50% year-to-date, and AutoNation, Inc., is down 14.23% year-to-date. Combined, DLTR and AN make up approximately 0.8% of the underlying holdings of IYC.

The next worst performing sector is the Consumer Products sector, showing a 0.3% loss. Among large Consumer Products stocks, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. (Symbol: RCL) and Brown-Forman Corp. (Symbol: BF.B) are the most notable, showing a loss of 2.7% and 2.1%, respectively. One ETF closely tracking Consumer Products stocks is the iShares U.S. Consumer Goods ETF ( IYK ), which is down 0.1% in midday trading, and down 0.00% on a year-to-date basis. Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., meanwhile, is down 26.03% year-to-date, and Brown-Forman Corp., is down 3.71% year-to-date. BF.B makes up approximately 0.5% of the underlying holdings of IYK.
