Wall Street swung between gains and losses on Thursday, capping a choppy session by heading into the close on the weaker side after disappointing earnings results and after President Donald Trump renewed his criticism of China over trade.
Most sectors on the S&P 500 were in the red, with utilities lagging the most, leading seven of the 11 groups into loss territory. On the Dow Jones Industrial Average, Cisco Systems ( CSCO ) fell the most after its quarterly results, while Walmart ( WMT ) was also weaker after earnings.
