US stocks were set for a lower open ahead of the Christmas holiday on Tuesday when markets are closed and as turmoil in Washington continued to hound the market.
Oil prices nudged lower with global benchmark Brent crude down 0.80% and US crude West Texas Intermediate down 1.47% recently amid concerns about global crude output and economic downturn.
Data released at 8:30 am showed the Chicago Fed national activity index came in at 0.22 in November, above the 0.19 consensus and following previous month's 0.24 level, according to data compiled by Econoday.
In equities, shares of Micronet ( MICT ) were 26.7% higher after the company received $1.4 million in orders for Treq-317 fleet management platform.
