Wall Street Set for Lower Open after Labor Day Weekend, Increased North Korea Tensions

U.S. stock futures were poised for a lower open on Tuesday as traders, who just returned from the long Labor Day weekend, reacted to North Korea's most powerful nuclear test over the weekend.

Oil prices nudged higher with global benchmark Brent Crude up 0.44% recently, and U.S. benchmark West Texas Intermediate up 1.33% as refineries in the Gulf of Mexico powered back up after the disruptions caused by Hurricane Harvey.

At 10 a.m., data are expected to show factory orders falling 3.1% in July vs a prior gain of 3%, according to data compiled by Econoday.

In equities, shares of Insmed ( INSM ) more than doubled in value pre-bell after the company reported results from its phase 3 Convert study of Amikacin Liposome Inhalation Suspension in adult patients with treatment-refractory non-tuberculous mycobacterial lung disease which met its primary endpoint.
