U.S. stocks rose on Friday, with gains in defensive sectors including consumer staples and real estate helping extend a two-day rally, although weakness in technology companies capped gains.

At 10:13 ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.05 percent at 23,150.65. The S&P 500 was up 0.14 percent at 2,492.28 and the Nasdaq Composite was up 0.09 percent at 6,585.324.

** BP Prudhoe Bay Royalty Trust, up 10.7 pct
