U.S. ECONOMICS: U.S.Weekly Jobless Claims Preview

U.S. initial jobless claims for the week ended June 7, released Thursday at 8:30 a.m. ET, are expected to see drop of 3,000 to 309,000 (consensus range median 305,000 to 340,000).

The 8,000 initial claims bounce to 312,000 in the final week of May extended the pattern of big oscillations that have left recent readings of 304,000 (was 300,000) in the fourth week of May and 327,000 in the BLS survey week, versus a 298,000 cycle-low in the week before that and a 345,000 recent-high at the end of April.
