UPDATE: Novagold Appoints Vice President, Engineering and Development; Shares Fall 5.1% Late Morning

Novagold Resources Inc. (NG.TO) has appointed Richard Williams as Vice President Engineering and Development, effective April 1, 2013. Williams will be responsible for all aspects related to the engineering and technical advancement of the Company's flagship Donlin Gold Project in Alaska and Galore Creek Project in British Columbia.

He spent over 30 years with Barrick Gold developing and operating major mines, with a particular focus on the design and implementation of the pressure oxidation technology planned to be used to process ores at Donlin Gold.

Novagold, which was down 11 cents to $3.81 in early trade, has slipped further to $3.72 late morning.
