Equinox Minerals (EQN.TO) was higher at $8.14 by 2 cents after reportedly announcing late Wednesday that 729 million EQN common shares representing approximately 83% of the outstanding Equinox Shares have been deposited into the offer by Barrick Gold Corporation (ABX.TO), and all of the conditions of the offer have been satisfied.
Equinox also said that Barrick and its affiliates now collectively own about 747 million Equinox Shares, representing approximately 85% of the outstanding Equinox Shares on a fully diluted basis.
Barrick Gold shares went up by nearly 1% to $46.31 on the Toronto Stock Exchange and were up by less than 1% at US$47.38 in the United States after the news.
