Is Turkcell ( TKC , quote ) lifting the fog on dividends? Turkcell popped today in pre-market and comfortably above key support at $16.10 as the board appointed 3 new independent directors.

Turkcell is one of the dominant companies in a market that is loved by emerging market investors but has been held back as a nasty shareholder battle has not only distracted investors, but there has been little visibility into the dividend status.

Turkcell historically has paid one of the richest dividends in a dividend rich market (for example we call April/May dividend season in Turkey/Russia).

Today's news will give investors reason to believe last years omitted dividend (due to shareholder battle) and this year's dividend may be on the way shortly.
