The PowerShares S&P 500 Downside Hedged Portfolio ETF is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Tuesday, with over 477,000 shares traded versus three month average volume of about 70,000. Shares of PHDG were up about 1% on the day.
Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Tuesday were Bank of America, trading up about 2.2% with over 43.9 million shares changing hands so far this session, and Chesapeake Energy, up about 1.3% on volume of over 32.1 million shares. Southwestern Energy is the component faring the best Tuesday, up by about 7.1% on the day, while Gap is lagging other components of the PowerShares S&P 500 Downside Hedged Portfolio ETF, trading lower by about 11.8%.
