In trading on Tuesday, the SPDR S&P Oil & Gas Exploration & Production ETF ( XOP ) is outperforming other ETFs, up about 4% on the day. Components of that ETF showing particular strength include shares of Stone Energy ( SGY ), up about 10.9% and shares of Carrizo Oil & Gas ( CRZO ), up about 9.9% on the day.
And underperforming other ETFs today is the iShares Transportation Average ETF ( IYT ), off about 0.9% in Tuesday afternoon trading. Among components of that ETF with the weakest showing on Tuesday were shares of United Continental Holdings ( UAL ), lower by about 3.6%, and shares of Delta Air Lines (DAL), lower by about 3.4% on the day.
