The best performing sector as of midday Tuesday is the Technology & Communications sector, up 0.4%. Within that group, Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (Symbol: AMD) and Qorvo Inc (Symbol: QRVO) are two of the day's stand-outs, showing a gain of 8.9% and 3.1%, respectively. Among technology ETFs , one ETF following the sector is the Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF (Symbol: XLK), which is up 0.3% on the day, and up 16.29% year-to-date. Advanced Micro Devices, Inc., meanwhile, is up 9.70% year-to-date, and Qorvo Inc is up 39.86% year-to-date. Combined, AMD and QRVO make up approximately 0.4% of the underlying holdings of XLK.

The next best performing sector is the Materials sector, not showing much of a loss. Among large Materials stocks, Eastman Chemical Co (Symbol: EMN) and FMC Corp.
