The TSX fell 14 points at midday after erasing earlier gains, dragged down by telecom and industrial stocks.

Oil prices were down by more than 1% but remained above US$50/barrel after markets rallied due to optimism over OPEC cutting production.

Telecom and industrials were the weakest groups, down 0.5% and 0.3%, respectively. On the positive side, mining gained 0.2% while metals advanced 0.6%. Energy added 0.3%.

Total volume traded so far was 138.4 million shares. Canopy Growth (CGC.TO) was the most actively traded stock.
