TSX Finishes a Topsy-turvy day Around 15 Pts Higher on reversal of fortune for select commodity futures

Toronto's main stock index finished a topsy-turvy day around 15 points higher on a reversal of fortune for select commodity futures. Brent crude, gold and silver futures all ended higher, having been lower in previous days. Copper futures closed down, having been positive in previous days. The performance of many related individual stocks mirrored this.

After opening pretty strong and posting a day high 13,224.99 the TSX came under prolonged periods of selling pressure and touched a day low of 13,144.32 after 2pm ET. It recovered from there to close in again on the 13,200 mark but did decline a little over the run in.
