TSX Down 27 Points as Commodities, Financials, Fall; Industrials, Healthcare, The Biggest Gainers

The TSX is down 27 points this morning on mixed sectors. Miners (-0.96%) and energy (-0.65%) are in the red, while financials is also lower, shedding 0.63%.

The biggest gainers are industrials (+0.77%) and healthcare (+0.625).

The Bank of Canada held rates steady at 1.75% this morning, as was widely expected.

In commodities, oil prices were mostly steady early on Wednesday near six-month highs after the International Energy Agency (IEA) said the market remains well supplied even if Iranian exports are completely removed from the market, though it warned that higher oil prices remain a danger to the global economy. Gold prices, on the other hand, edged higher even as the US dollar rose higher.
