TSX up 76 Points as Energy, Miners, Lead Gains

The TSX is up 69 points this morning on mixed sectors. Energy and miners are the biggest gainers so far, up 0.82% and 2.22% respectively. TransCanada Corp (TRP.TO) is up nearly 4% after saying it expects the Nebraska Supreme Court to reach a decision on its Keystone XL pipeline by the first quarter of 2019. The company also reported a Q3 beat.

Encana Corp (ECA.TO) has plunged 16% after reporting its third-quarter profit fell 87% even as cash flow more than doubled. The company has agreed to acquire U.S. natural-gas producer Newfield Resources ( NFX ) for shares worth US$5.5 billion.

Info tech and industrials are the biggest decliners, shedding 0.50% and 0.39% respectively.

The IHS Markit Canada Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' index (PMI), fell to a seasonally adjusted 53.9 last month, its lowest since January 2017, from 54.8 in September.
