TSX Up 69 Points Mid-Afternoon; Resources, Healthcare Still In The Lead

The TSX rose 69 points in the mid-afternoon session, still boosted by resource and healthcare stocks.

Oil was up by 1% recently, and Action Economics said High levels of OPEC/NOPEC compliance to agreed production cuts offered support to prices. OPEC's secretary general was cited as saying: "All countries involved remain resolute in the determination to achieve a higher level of conformity."

Mining and metals were ahead by 0.4% and 1.1%, respectively. Healthcare and energy advanced 1.3% and 0.8%, respectively. Telecom was still in the red, slipping 0.04%.

Total volume traded was 264.4 million shares. Northern Dynasty Minerals (NDM.TO) was the most actively traded stock.
