TSX Up 62 Points to 6-Month High, All Sectors Bar Healthcare in Positive Territory; Energy Surges 1.6%

The TSX is up 62.2 points mid-morning, with all sectors bar healthcare in the green. Healthcare is down 0.87%.

The biggest gainer is energy, with the sectors gaining 1.6%, boosted by higher oil and gas prices. The next biggest gainer is miners, up 0.98%.

Canadian manufacturing sales fell by 1.7% to C$50.04 billion in February, the fourth drop in five months, Statistics Canada said on Wednesday. Closures for retooling at auto assembly plants helped drag down sales. Monthly manufacturing sales have fallen 6.8% from their most recent high of C$53.67 billion in July 2014.
