The TSX is up nearly 50 points this morning on mixed sectors, possibly lifted by optimism that Canada may be exempt from US tariffs after reports that US President Trump was pondering offering a 30-day exemption from the tariffs to Canada and Mexico.
The biggest gainers are info tech and healthcare, up 1.40% and 1.33% respectively.
The mining sector is the biggest decliner, shedding 2.77%, pulled down by lower gold and copper prices . Energy has also turned negative, shedding 0.18%, as crude oil dips to US$60.78.
