TSX At 10am -- Down Nearly 90 Points; Info Tech, Energy and Miners Weigh

The TSX is down nearly 90 points this morning, with most sectors in the red. Info tech is the biggest loser so far, shedding 1.31%, followed by energy, down 0.84% and miners, down 0.6%.

Commodities are all down this morning.

The biggest gainer is telecom -- up 0.17%.

Canadian manufacturing sales rose in March, by 0.4%, for the third straight month and the sixth time in the last seven months. Manufacturing was up 3.5% from a year ago, Statistics Canada said today.

Sales rose to a post-recession high of $50.92 billion, the largest since August 2008.

Existing home sales was up 2.7% in April from the previous month, but sales were down from a year ago, the Canadian Real Estate Association said.
