TSX At 10am -- Down 13 Points On Mixed Sectors, With Miners The Biggest Losers

The TSX is down 13 points this morning with miners shouldering the heaviest losses, shedding 1.25% as gold and silver dip 1.5% and 0.33% respectively. Gold fell to a two-month low in New York on the outlook for higher U.S. interest rates, minutes of the Federal Reserve's July meeting showed yesterday.

Industrials are the next biggest loser, down 0.32%.

Healthcare has bucked its losing trend this week, registering a 0.31% increase as media reports suggest that Tekmira's (TKM.TO) experimental Ebola drug is showing promise -- with all treated monkeys in an experimental study still alive despite being infected with an Ebola-related virus.
