Needless to say, everyone and their Mom is upset at Trump from withdrawing from the Paris Climate Agreement. Democrats, Republicans, private citizens, even CEOs joined in on Twitter to call him out, and share their concerns for our planet, with some putting even their money where their tweet is:

As states , cities , foreign leaders , and companies also dedicate their efforts to the Paris Climate Agreement, Trump's own Dept. of Energy numbers show that there's no stopping the move towards clean and renewable power. The Sierra Club reports that clean energy jobs now outnumber coal, oil, and gas in 41 states and Washington D.C., based on the agency's data.

"Nationally, clean energy jobs outnumber all fossil fuel jobs by over 2.5 to 1; and they exceed all jobs in coal and gas by 5 to 1" the report reads, "Policies to incentivize and invest in clean energy have the potential to create millions of new jobs across the United States, far in excess of the reality and potential of the fossil fuel sector."

The May jobs report cited a slump in job creation last month, only hitting 138,000 new jobs out of the expected 180,000. With Trump's support of outdated, pollutive, and dangerous methods (aka coal) of energy generation, that number will continue to trend downward.

"This means working tirelessly to ensure that the communities and workers historically dependent on fossil fuels are prioritized and put first at every stage of our ongoing transition to an economy powered more fully by clean energy." the report reads, "It also means affordable and equitable access to the benefits of clean energy for communities of color and low-income people, and democratic accountability of the clean energy industry."

If the US is to remain a global player and economic leader, we need to push our society into the future, not look to the past. You can check out the full report and numbers from Sierra Club, here .
